Open Letter to our Dearest Prime Minister
Respected Prime Minister Sir I need your
attention please.
I was going through your website www.mygov.in and a thought just crossed my mind.
Why there are no programs for medical improvement in India. Are you even aware
that we do not have any Hepatologist in our city, i.e. Kolkata.
I very well, know that you’re the busiest person
in this country, always in immense thoughts and actions for the betterment of
our country. To be very honest I am not a political person but my husband and
father both were huge fans of yours and I was being forced to listen to all
yours pre election and post election speeches. I know that after you took hold
of our country,"achhe din “have come. We are progressing at a lightening speed.
But for me things are bit different.
I used to have a family with father and mother
and my husband. I am an IT engineer with MBA in IT and things were all easy
until and unless my father got diagnosed with Liver cirrhosis. I took him to
each and every private hospitals of Kolkata with no relief. His conditions got deteriorated
and our bank balances got reduced. He was 57,never drank, and never smoked, no
bad habits, worked hard till his last breadth. We visited a private hospital in
Manicktala, they kept him HDU spent 2 lakhs, then again we visited another Hospital
in Mukundapur, they kept him in HDU and ICU for 12 days, charged us around 7
lakhs and said that they do not have much to do. Forced us to hire an air
ambulance spending 10lakhs and take him to Chennai when he was taking his last breadth.
We took him to a private hospital Chennai; they again kept him ICU for 2days
took 4lakhs and declared him dead.
This was my story and I know that this is very
common for you, but Sir, it is my request to you that please do something in
the medical fields sir, I do not want any father or mother to suffer like this,
I want proper medical treatments for all, without getting robbed, please sir,
my friends and relatives who are staying abroad are ashamed of the medical facilities
in India.
I know we have got very improved medicines and
machines and doctors but sir can every one avail it, to be very truthful sir
our medical facilities are one of the worst sir. As I find you really helpful
to youngsters and tech lover I request you to take some time and do a little
research you can find millions and millions of complains on several hospitals
all over the country. I know you are bringing crores of business, making
alliances and all but sir before taking our country forward why don’t you make
it a healthier place. I am 26 years old and a citizen of India, so I believe I
do have this responsibility to make you aware of this corruptions occurring in
every hospitals and medical institutions all over the country. Save us SIR,
save our elders and children.
Yours Sincerely,
Shatabdi Bhattacharyya Chatterjee
Jai Hind!
